Japanese doom metallers, Boris, brought their intensive experimental music to the Rickshaw Theatre on Sunday night. The band are touring for their 25th year anniversary and latest record ‘Dear’.
As soon as the trio took to the stage, huge plumes of smoke filled the room, leaving nothing but silhouettes and rays of high contrasting lights shining through. Their dynamic on stage was very unique, with the drummer conducting long pauses of feedback and waving a microphone around to help continue the oscillating sound.
Wata, the female guitarist of the band, also had an accordion on the side of the stage, which was used briefly to create and eerie effect during one of their songs.
