Back in mid-2016 the world was treated to a new track from Red Hot Chili Peppers, called “Dark Necessities”.
That was the first song released from the group’s 11th studio album, The Getaway. It stirred through the airwaves and showed a hint of a change in the band’s overall style.
Since then the group has been touring feversihly behind that newest compilation, playing all over the world to hundreds of thousands of fans. They are currently mid-tour and have dates rolling on into October of this year.
If your have been living under a rock and are somehow unfamiliar with who the Chili Peppers are, well here is a simple breakdown. They are one of the most successful acts in rock history, lead by singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, having sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs, and won six Grammy Awards, including “Best Rock Album” for Stadium Arcadium, “Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group” for “Dani California,” “Best Rock Song” for “Scar Tissue,” and “Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal” for “Give It Away.” To top all of that off, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012.
As a band, they have managed to remain relevant for over 3 decades. Their unique blend of funk and rock has solidified them as one of the true music legends but its the intensity and sincerity with which they perform their live shows that sets them a step above. That is why we have chosen the Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ The Getaway Tour as our featured tour for March of 2017.
